Learning Method: Correspondence with online support

• no previous experience is required for the Freelance Journalism Course. The prerequisite for the Advanced Freelance Journalism Course is the successful completion of the Freelance Journalism Course; or equivalent
• access to a standard computer to write your stories
• as little as an hour a week to learn
  

The personal attributes you will need to have include:

• an interest in journalism
• an enjoyment of reading (a journalist needs to remain abreast of current news topics)
• the ability to speak clearly when interviewing
• a reasonable command of written English
• basic writing skills (a knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar)
• basic word processing skills (able to type)
• a willingness to learn and the desire to succeed
