This course has been developed to meet the requirements of freelance journalists working on assignment for a range of newspapers with some broadcasting elements. It is packed with practical activities and you will have real articles and features to write and submit to newspaper editors. In addition, you can access the online activities in the eLearning Centre to further practise and test your knowledge and skills. And you can talk with other students from all over the country in the Student Forum.

Materials: Your course includes College folder and student case, all modules (tutorials and assignment projects), textbooks, learning tools, tutor feedback and marking, College support, progressive Transcripts of Study, Graduate Awards and final Academic Transcripts, access to the eCampus, eNews, Student ID Pass, and access to educational discounts.

With this course program you can build upon the previous Freelance Journalism Course (12 modules) by undertaking the Freelance Journalism Upgrade Course (6 modules).

It is important to realise that you can only undertake this upgrade course if you have already completed the Freelance Journalism Course. Alternatively, if you plan to undertake both the Freelance Journalism Course and the Freelance Journalism Upgrade Course, you could simply enrol straight into the complete Advanced Freelance Journalism Course (18 modules).

The aim of the upgrade course is to further develop your knowledge and skills as a freelance journalist.

In the Freelance Journalism Upgrade Course you will further your skills and knowledge by learning about public relations, multi-media, broadcasting, photojournalism and basic photography. You will explore the trail of the paparazzi and learn how to build relationships with editors. You'll also look at the role of a correspondent and how to expand your working market.

Undertaking the Freelance Journalism Upgrade Course is the next step after the Freelance Journalism Course.
