The
National Editor Course has been developed against the national curriculum
from the Department of Education, Training and the Arts. On advice
from the Accreditation Advisory Committee, the modules of competency
in the Diploma of Editing (Publishing) 39237QLD have incorporated
the Australian Standards for Editing Practice ratified by the Institute
of Professional Editors (IPEd). There are a total of 22 modules
you need to complete.
The
National Editor Course is packed with practical real-life activities
and you will have real editing exercises to do. In addition, you
will have online access to activities in the eLearning Centre to
further practise and test your knowledge and skills. And you can
talk with other students from all over the country in the Student
Forum.
Materials:
Your course includes College folder and student case, all modules (tutorials and assignment
projects), textbooks, learning tools, tutor feedback and marking,
College support, progressive Transcripts of Study, Graduate Awards
and final Academic Transcripts, access to the eCampus, eNews, Student
ID Pass, and access to educational discounts.
There
are two pathways into this course:
Pathway
1: Direct entry into the National Editor Course
Pathway
2: Completion of the Professional Book Editing, Proofreading
& Publishing Course then complete of the National Editor Upgrade
Course
Both
pathways cover the same subjects and materials, and both end in
the same result. Pathway 1 is for those who are committed to the
full program; Pathway 2 are for those who aren't certain if they
want to go the entire distance.
