IATA Fares and Ticketing Course

These comprehensive IATA fares and ticketing modules, which comprise the IATA Fares & Ticketing I & II Course meet the IATA requirements for constructing international airfares.

In addition, SITTTSL013A meets the Travel Agents Licensing requirements for application to the Department of Fair Trading in all Australian States and Terroritories.

The IATA Fares & Ticketing Course provides the skills and knowledge required to correctly construct international air itineraries and cost fares using advanced international airfare rules and procedures. You will learn how to accurately interpret airfare information and construct airfares that meet the needs of your travel clients. The course includes air itineraries for Mixed Class airfares, Add-ons, PTA’s, minimum fare checks,side trips, round the world journeys, open jaw journeys, indirect travel limitations, pricing unit concept, currency conversion and advanced airline ticketing.

The IATA Fares & Ticketing I & II Course comprises correspondence learning workbooks with fares and ticketing activities and a practical assignment project booklet containing your fares and ticketing assessment tasks.

The course should take you around 90 hours to complete: Module SITTTSL013A takes around 50 hours and module SITTTSL015A takes around 40 hours. You do this in the comfort of your own home. You are assigned a qualified industry travel tutor who will mark your assignment project and give you feedback and guidance. Your tutor (along with Student Services) will also provide you with personal support and assistance throughout your unit of study.

Once you have successfully completed the course you will be recognised to international IATA standards for fares and ticketing I & II.
