Centrelink Assistance

Many of our courses are approved for Austudy; Abstudy; Youth Allowance; Pensioner Education Supplement (PES); Jobs, Education and Training (JET); and others.

Conditions and criteria vary for different funding programs and different states. Also, your funding eligibility will depend on your personal circumstances.

Austudy, Abstudy, Youth Allowance, Pensioner Education Supplement provide financial assistance for students who meet the eligibility requirements. You will need to apply directly to your Centrelink to receive these benefits.

Training Credits

Earn Training Credits worth up to $800 by participating in community work placements

You can choose a training course that suits your needs in an industry or field you are interested in and your Training Credit can pay for the course fees. These training courses are recognised across Australia by employers, State and Territory Governments and education institutions. Doing a course of your choice could help you get a job.

Climate Change Adjustment Program Advice and Training Grant

Some fee assistance may be available to those in rural areas/ farmers wishing to re-train.
Currently there is Centrelink funding available for farmers through: Climate Change Adjustment Program Grant

Available until end June 2011. You will need to apply directly to Centrelink for CCAP - vouchers
Centrelink will pay up to $5,500 to assist with Training and software.

The Climate Change Adjustment Program Advice and Training Grant, offers up to $5500 (GST included), is available to eligible farmers. The grant is available for specialised professional advice and training across a range of areas to assist farmers to adjust to the impacts of climate change.

Examples of advice and training include:

  • financial assessment
  • agronomic advice
  • business planning and management
  • training and computer software
  • legal and personal advice where the advice is linked to managing the impacts of climate change.

Who is Eligible?= Australian residents who meet the required assets test.

Sold the farm by 31st March 2011
Have had a right or interest in the land used for the purpose of the farm enterprise
Derived a gross income from the farm
Those effectively in control of the farm before settlement
