Alison Tait is an experienced trainer in the area of small business with over eleven years experience in hands on small business operations, and also thirteen years experience in a corporate environment in marketing and business roles.

Having grown up in a family environment of small business, Alison has a passion for small business and loves discussing and sharing her experience, knowledge and skills in small business with people.

“I’ve always loved the small business environment,” says Alison. “And one of the things I most enjoy is to motivate others to follow their own dream to have their own business.”

Alison’s career started working as a coordinator in the NSW sales and marketing department of a multinational hire company whilst finishing her final year of university. From there she moved into a marketing role within an international retail company before moving into a product management role at an internationally known hotel chain. She then stepped into corporate marketing with a large international packaging company before finding her niche in franchise business.

During this time, Alison also owned and operated along with her husband a contracting company and then become a franchisee in a well known and successful franchise business. It was with this franchise that Alison become involved in training and found her love and passion for teaching and mentoring which led to her career in training upon selling the business.

Alison’s excellent verbal and written communication skill and organisation skills along with her attention to detail and level of knowledge in a wide range of areas have proven to be a perfect match for teaching.

Alison is an excellent teacher who takes the time to ensure her students have a full understanding of their subjects and they receive consistent and constructive feedback. She sees her role as a teacher to encourage her student’s to always do their best and to think outside the square in their studies. She also understands that not every student is the same and adapts her approach to students to reflect this.

Alison is experienced in teaching Small Business, Marketing, Business, and Management subjects.

Alison graduated from University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Degree with a joint major in Marketing and Tourism Management, and also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Alison has also attended professional development sessions during her training career and ensures that she is up to date with the latest trends in the business world.
