Welcome to Angela’s world of Editing, Proofreading and Publishing!

With over 20 years experience as a freelance editor/writer and qualified teacher (adult learning) Angela Brennan has a rich portfolio to offer students.

Angela is an experienced and competent editor/writer and teacher. She has had a number of articles and stories published or broadcast. In addition, Angela has written or assisted in the writing/editing of numerous books, reports, interpretive signs and journals covering a diverse range of subjects from science, environment, history, education and indigenous issues.

Angela has worked as an editor for the Australian Conservation Foundation and Institute of Aboriginal Development and is currently a journalist for Vegetables Australia (a research and development magazine for the horticultural industry). In her own successful freelance business, Angela has edited a range of educational resources and academic theses ranging from indigenous literacy and diploma courses to postgraduate theses in science, environment and history. She has also worked closely with authors assisting in the development of their autobiographies, creative texts, political and cultural histories in Central Australia, SA and Victoria. She is currently working on history texts for upper primary level.

Angela has designed and presented a range of English, literacy and creative writing courses and workshops for prevocational and adult learners and has edited and assisted in the preparation of curriculum material for education at all levels of learning.

The extensive experience obtained by Angela over her 20-year career has given her a strong understanding of the editor’s and writer’s role.

I have worked on many rewarding projects with authors,” Angela says. “Being a writer as well, I find I am able to sympathise with how it feels to give your work over to an editor and That Blue Pen! At the same time I am able to step easily into the role of the editor and not only discipline my own writing but use my writing skills to guide my editing. The two are mutually inclusive.”

Angela is a motivated editor and creative thinker with proven research abilities.

I am an avid writer, and enjoy research and editing immensely. I love teaching students and helping them to develop and learn. It is never boring. I love this work.

In addition to her varied experience, Angela holds a Graduate Diploma of Education, A Bachelor of Arts and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA). Angela is also a member of the Society of Editors (SA) and the Fellowship of Australian Writers.

With Angela’s feedback, support and guidance, we know you will find your course a rewarding, stimulating and positive experience—and one that may just change your life!
