Robert N. Stephenson is a multi-published book, story and poetry author with over 40 works published around the world. Robert has written short stories covering most of the popular genres today, as well as a range of poetry, which has been published in New York, Denmark and Australia. He has also authored a science fiction novel, a murder mystery and ghost-written a crime novel.

Robert’s collection We Would Be Heroes, for which Nebula Award winner Robert J Sawyer has praised, is now available from www.altair-australia.com.

Robert owns and manages the editing company Altair Australia Pty Ltd, and has edited works for clients in the areas of fiction and non-fiction. The company also runs a literary agency representing authors’ written material to publishers and film producers both within Australia and overseas. Altair Australia has edited bestseller novels in mainstream literature and self-help books for clients in Australia and Hong Kong.

Robert’s recent work Garments of Rainbows, a collection of street poetry, sold out. His earlier story, The Touch of Silk, was chosen as the cover story for the professional Australian magazine, Aurealis. A further story, Silence, appeared in the US anthology ‘Wondrous Web Worlds’, edited by J. A. Erwin. In 2002 Robert was a panel judge for the Aurealis Awards.

In 1999 Robert won the Harper Collins prize for completing a novella partly written by the late author, George Turner. He was also awarded second prize with Who’ll Stop The Rain in the The Phyllis Gotleib byline contest, with the story printed in the US.

Robert has worked as a professional editor for Edit Avenue in Boston, Sid Harta Publishers (edited two best sellers in 2002) and for private-client novels and non-fiction books. He has edited over 20 published novels and 10 published non-fiction books. Robert also works as a Literary Agent (representing Tony Shillitoe, Gail Merritt, Kurt von Trojan and Victoria Kerrigan) and Publisher. Robert is also a member of the SA Writer’s Centre and the NSW Writer’s Centre, and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA).

As a tutor, Robert is able to provide his students with valuable knowledge and insights into story writing, poetry writing and novel construction, which he has gained from his years of experience as an accomplished writer.
