No
previous experience is required but you will need to have:
- a
good command of English plus numeracy skills
- a
good level of computer skills
- access
to a computer with Excel software
- as
little as an hour a week to learn
The
computer requirements are:
- operating
system: Windows 2000, XP or Vista, Mac OS X 10.4 or later
- memory:
200 MB of RAM
The
personal attributes you will need to have include:
- an
interest in accounting
- an
aptitude for figures
- good
computer literacy
- organisational
and analytical skills
- a
willingness to learn and the desire to succeed
If
you have these essential requirements then you can get started immediately
and be on your way to developing your career as a BAS Agent.
While
the entry requirement into this course is 15 years, to be eligible
for registration as a BAS Agent you will need to be 18 years or
over, have completed 1400 hours of relevant experience, and meet
any other requirements set by the Tax Practitioners Board.
This
course meets the Australian Taxation Office's (ATO) requirements
as currently proposed under the new draft legislation for BAS Service
Providers (BSP). Keep in mind that this legislation has not been
released yet and there might be changes to the requirements. To
